When discussing reproductive rights, public discourse tends to focus exclusively on abortion. However, abortion is only one side of the reproductive coin. In this seminar, ISU Professor, Dr. Linda Maule, will focus on the other side of the reproductive rights coin: sterilization, “the Mississippi appendectomy,” and other forms of eugenics in the United States and elsewhere.
