Come explore Indiana with OLLI. We will start our day at C.C. Cook & Son Lumber Company, which have been
supplying hardwood green and kiln dried lumber, dimensional stock, veneer logs, pallets, skids, and blocking to customers world-wide for nearly 80 years. Learn the ins and outs of the lumber business and see first hand what it takes to produce the lumber that is used everyday around the world.
After touring the lumber company we still stop for lunch at Cooks Corner Cafe in Poland, Indiana where we will enjoy homemade comfort food. After lunch we will visit Historic Poland Chapel. This National Historical Landmark was built in 1869, then re-furbished in 2009 after arsonists set fire to it. We will learn about the history of the chapel from a volunteer with the Poland Historical Chapel Organization.
