Adult-Adolescent SAFE Clinical Skills Lab

WHO?

Licensed nurses who have completed the SAFE 40 hour didactic training prior to the start of the course (completion certificates will be requested at registration). This course may be of particular interest to nurses pursuing certification, but who practice in rural and/or low-volume patient settings.

 CE CREDITS

 This offering has been approved for 16.0 nursing continuing education contact hours. The International Association of Forensic Nursing is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

REGISTRATION

The cost of attendance is $150. Registration includes training materials and meals.

 ABOUT THE TRAINING

 The 2 Day Clinical Skills Training is offered for nurses interested in opportunities to gain hands-on experience in conducting adult/adolescent sexual assault medical-forensic examinations. Trainees are given the opportunity to apply information and skills obtained in the classroom in a realistic setting and through the use of live patient models. This course may help to meet the IAFN's requirement of demonstrating competency through clinical preceptorship experiences.

 LEARNING OUTCOMES

 1. SAFE trained RNs will successfully demonstrate completion of the speculum/pelvic examination on a variety of living simulation patients.
