History Through Disney
With Dr. Lisa Phillips

Dates: Tuesdays, May 14, 21 & 28
Time: 10:00—11:30 a.m.
Place: ISU Cunningham Memorial Library
Room 028
Cost: $15

ISU History Professor, Dr. Lisa Phillips, presents “big” topics in history through the lens of the beloved “Disney,” both Walt and the Disney Corporation. From the Cold War, through the Rise of American Conservatism, Gender Roles and the Nuclear Family, to American Imperialism, Disney was at the center of them all. Some argue that Disney has provided the very cultural framework of everything from sports to gender, race, entertainment, work, and even history. This class will examine the extent to which this is the case and, if so, how it happened!

Fee: $15.00
