As a jazz pianist, Dr. John Spicknall is largely self-taught although he has worked with such noted jazz teachers as Jamey Aebersold, David Baker, and Jerry Coker. Dr. Spicknall’s performance credits include appearances at the International Association of Jazz Educator Conventions and concerts with such jazz artists as Art Pepper, Bobby Shew, Clark Terry, Gary Burton, and Louis Bellson. Dr. Spicknall is a Terre Haute treasure, for whenever jazz piano is needed, Doc Spicknall always gets the first call. Dr. Spicknall will perform standards from the Great American Songbook along with bassist Eric Schatz and vocalist Kari Palma.
