Terre Haute Children's Choir..Terre Haute Location for Ages 7-18

Any child who wants in the choir shall be in the choir. Auditions are only to decide which choir. Registration is $75.00. If your child needs a new polo, there is an opportunity to purchase one for $25.00.

The THCC offers three different choirs to accommodate the singing experience of every child:

Sing Up! is a preparatory choir experience designed for the child who is learning to listen and match the pitch, develop his/her vocal range and sing with a pure tone. With the help of ISU music education majors, the “Sing Up!” group participates in games, sings songs and engages in vocal exercises.

Lyric Choir is an intermediate choir. In this choir, singers will learn basic vocal production, and singing in-tune. They will also learn how to follow along in their music, and to vocally blend with other singers to achieve a beautiful unison sound.

Treble Choir is an advanced choir. Singers build on vocal technique, blending and reading music. They learn to harmonize through the use of two and three part songs. Treble Choir performs out in the community throughout the choral season (August-May).

Children may progress to the more advanced choirs through bi-annual auditions. All three groups participate in a concert at the end of each semester.

Auditions: (No appointment necessary--but please register before auditions) Wednesday, January 11 and Thursday, January 12, 4:30 - 6:00 PM at the Landini Center for the Performing Arts at the corner of 7th & Chestnut on the ISU campus. Rehearsals are every Wednesday, 4:30 - 6:00 PM, January 18 through April 26 (EXCEPT March 29--VCSC Spring Break) for a total of 14 rehearsals including the dress rehearsal on April 26. Final concert will be Wednesday, May 3 at 6:30 PM, location TBA. We welcome all children 7 and up who like to sing. Our groups are taught by experienced professionals in the choral field who stress good vocal technique and choral singing habits, musicianship, and music-reading skills through the use of a v ariety of choral pieces--all in an atomosphere of encouragement and fun. CANCELLATION POLICY We understand that last minute schedule changes happen. We need to have at least a two hour notice before cancelling a scheduled session. If there is a cancellation after that allotted two hour window, it will result in a lost session.
