As a follow-up to the Winter 2022 Jerry Zanandrea’s presentation titled “Life in a Coal Town”, OLLI members
will visit the Coal Town and Railroad Museum located at Main Street and Vine Street in Clinton. The museum features photos, maps, artifacts, displays and a life-size mock-up of an underground mine “face” depicting the many mines in the Clinton and Vermillion County area in the late 1800s and early 1900s. In addition, the coal mines attracted immigrants from foreign countries to settle in this area.
Following the tour of the museum we will visit the Historic Little Italy North Ninth Street section of Clinton where we
will enjoy a traditional Italian bagna cauda lunch at Gerrie’s Restaurant.
Fee: | $40.00 |
