Students will participate in a five-day educational program in the Yucatan Peninsula, where most of them will have the opportunity to reconnect to their Hispanic roots. During this trip, students will stay together in a local renal home. Participants will visit and learn about the Chichen Itza pyramids. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to complete community service by providing students from Centro de Idiomas Global Learning school ESL tutoring for four hours a day, for a total of 12 hours.

ISU HLA & Latinx are committed to succeed scholarly within all students, develop leadership, conspire with other organizations on campus and participate in community service. This trip supports ISU HLA and Latinx learning community goals by promoting and expanding its international outreach providing its students with global outlook by means of an international education. In addition, this trip fosters a unique experience for students to serve students studying English at the Monteverde International School in Mexico. Student will have access to these Mexican students' English material previous to the trip so they can prepare their tutoring sessions.
