June 6, 2023- Introduction to Search and Rescue
Get a up close and personal look into what it takes to be a handler with Vigo County Search and Rescue. You will meet some of the K9’s of Vigo County Search and Rescue and learn what they do to protect and serve the community in times of need. We will go over how a K9’s nose works and how we have learned to interpret their behavior. There are three disciplines Vigo County SAR uses Trailing, Wide Area Search, and Human Remains Detection. Handlers will go over what their discipline is and how we utilize them in a search for a missing or lost person. Vigo County SAR will perform a demonstration of how a Human Remains Detection K9 works in a real world scenario.

June 13, 2023- Cold Case File of The Enzert Lewis Homicide
Vigo County Sheriff’s Detective Jason Fisher will profile the Murder Investigation of Enzert Lewis who was convicted of killing his wife Allyson Elmi-Lewis in 2012.Vigo County Search and Rescue handler Robin Stanifer will go over how her K9 was called upon to assist in a murder investigation.
