Indiana State Police Investigator, Frank Turchi, and Vermillion County Sheriff, Perry Hollowell, played roles in a 1991 trial involving a man responsible for twenty-two victims found stabbed to death in Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin. The perpetrator was eventually indicted for just one of the  murders, but he spent only three months in jail before an Illinois judge released him ruling that his constitutional rights had been denied due to illegally seized evidence. Six months and two weeks later another victim, Danny Bridges, was tortured and brutally murdered. The killer confessed to dismembering the body of the victim, claiming another man, Robert Little, had actually committed
the murder. Little had spent time in jail six months earlier, eventually escaped accountability for his alleged part in a horrific murder. Detective Turchi and Sheriff Hollowell will discuss their roles and the sad facts surrounding the Little trial. Legal scholar George Anastaplo noted, “…our society has become fragmented, creating hidden social islands where killing can be repeated and long go undiscovered, where prejudice and desperation determine events.”
