This class will introduce you to a few processes of making interesting metal jewelry. Students will learn how to cut out their earrings from flat metal sheet, texture the metal, optionally use a dapping block to achieve a curved surface, and attach ear wires. A few hand different hand tools will be introduced for working with small metal wires and jump rings, so hand dexterity is crucial.Tools used: metal cutting shears, hammer, dapping block, hand punch accessories, rounded pliers, metal file.
Material for the jewelry: copper or heavy aluminum, ear wires, jewelry wire/rods.
Safety needs: gloves and protective eye wear.
All Materials will be provided.
