Wabash Valley History
With Logan Knight, Special Collections Librarian and Historian, Vigo County Public Library

Date: Thursday, March 23, 2023
Time: 1:00 - 3:00 PM
Place: Vigo County Public Library,
Meeting Room A & C (lower level)
Cost: $5

This program will be devoted to explain the early, rich, and diverse history of Vigo County, Indiana. Vigo County is one of the oldest counties in the state and has a rich and fascinating history. Yet, how many people know anything about it’s history? Who can say who the county was named for? Who can say how people first came to live here? We live in a time of great uncertainty, where people often feel unmoored from their locality. By understanding where we came from, we can understand where we are going. This program will enable us to embrace a sense of pride and understanding for Terre Haute, Vigo County, and the Wabash Valley. We will examine everything from prehistory all the way to the founding of Terre Haute in 1816. History is everyone’s concern, whether we know it or not.
Fee: $5.00
