In this final installment of the “Hillerman Touch” series, students will examine the contributions of Tony & Anne Hillerman to the historical fiction genre of the Southwest. Their work has provided entertainment and excitement for readers with an interest in the culture of Navajo Indians where diversity and inclusion challenges are the norm. This class will focus on the television series, Dark Winds, which is based on Tony Hillerman’s People of Darkness, and students will be responsible for purchasing their own copy of the book. Class sessions will include book discussion and viewing the first episode of Season 2 of Dark Winds.
