Ernie Pyle was born and raised in Dana, Indiana and grew to become the most influential war correspondent of his generation. To this day, Pyle is the standard against which the quality of warjournalism is measured, and after he was tragically killed by enemy fire in the Battle of Okinawa, President Truman said of him, “No man in this war has so well told the story of the American fighting man as American fighting men wanted it told. He deserves the gratitude of all his countrymen.” Join Joanie Rumple and Phil Hess from the Ernie Pyle WWII Museum for a unique 3-session course that explores the life and legacy of this American icon. Session 1 will address Pyle’s early years, Session 2 will address the War Years, and Session 3 will be a guided tour of the Ernie Pyle WWII Museum, 120 Briarwood Ave., Dana, IN.

Fee: $20.00
