January 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Auschwitz. Join the CANDLES Holocaust Museum staff to explore the Who, What, When, Where, and Why of the Holocaust. This three session course covers the factors leading ordinary people to turn against their neighbors, resulting in millions of deaths. Learn which minority groups were targeted, the plan for extermination, and stories of the brave resistors who intervened. Through lectures, video clips, discussions, and an interactive interview with a Holocaust survivor, OLLI members will gain deeper insights into the Holocaust’s causes and consequences, as well as lessons for preventing future atrocities. Sessions 1 & 2 will be held at CML 028, and session 3 will be held at CANDLES.
