Nonprofit Leadership Alliance - Post-Baccalaureate Nonprofit Professional Certification Process
This is an individual, personally tailored professional development and credentialing process for nonprofit executives, board members, and volunteers, as well as for corporate executives and public administrators wanting to "sector-switch," who already possess an accredited bachelor's degree in a related field. This Post-Baccalaureate Nonprofit Professional Certification Process may include 1) for-credit or non-credit undergraduate or graduate coursework, as well as 2) documentation of a 300-hour nonprofit sector internship, 3) involvement with the Indiana State University Nonprofit Leadership Student Association, and 4) attendance at the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance national conference (i.e., Alliance Management/Leadership Institute - AMI). AMI attendance expenses for travel, registration, lodging, meals, etc. are in addition to the hourly rate for the credentialing process.
Payment can be made by the individual or organization that the candidate is affiliated with. The certification process can take a variety of formats and locations, including but not limited to organizational site visits, campus meetings, off-site meetings, phone calls, Skype meetings, e-mail and social media communication. Post-baccalaureate candidates will have 1 year from date of initial meeting to complete the nonprofit leadership certification. Potential post-baccalaureate candidates will receive a free 30-minute listening session before requiring payment for the instructor's time, expertise, and advisement. At the end of this appointment, the instructor will provide the potential post-baccalaureate candidate with an estimation of work load, completion time, and number of fee-based instructor hours necessary to complete certification.
