Travel with us to Mackinac Island for a delightful get away where time slows down, vehicles are absent, and fudge abounds. Our journey will take us first to Thunder Bay Resort at Hillman, MI where we board a horse drawn carriage and get whisked “over the river and through the woods” to the resorts’ preserve and view Rocky Mountain elk in their natural habitat. Our evening meal involves a five-course gourmet dinner and wine tasting. The next morning, we will take the ferry to Mackinac Island and enjoy a carriage tour of the island and have a tour and lunch at Ft. Mackinac prior to arriving at the Grand Hotel. The afternoon and evenings you are free to shop and sightsee on your own. Our next day begins with breakfast at the Inn on Mackinac, then early afternoon, we will take the ferry back to Mackinaw City and travel to Grand Rapids, MI., where we will have dinner at the elegant Bistro Bella Vita. Our last day starts with a tour of the Frederick Meijer Gardens, one of Michigan’s most popular attractions. We will have a guided tour of the indoor gardens followed by a tram ride throughout the sculpture park and gardens with a stop at The American Horse, a sculpture inspired by Leonardo da Vinci. Dinner will be included on our drive home.
