Need some ideas to freshen up your landscape? Join Fred Sanders from the Apple House as he discusses new and unusual, native, and edible landscape ideas. Students will learn about some of the more obscure specimens that work well in a midwest landscape such as Metasequoias, Atlas Cedars, and White Blooming Redbuds. The class explores native plants and their cultivars that thrive in the area and attract the attention of area pollinators. The class concludes with a discussion about the edible landscape such as Blueberries replacing Burning Bush, Sage as a shrub, and Chives as a mass of white blooms! Who knew garden borders could be so tasty?!
