This course explores key eras of automotive history to understand the profound impact cars have on society and culture. Discussions cover influential designers, iconic vehicles like the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Corvette, and visionary concept cars such as the Ford Nucleon, highlighting creativity and innovation across eras. The global car cultures, from American muscle cars to Japan’s futuristic designs, reflect unique societal identities and values. Vehicles have become symbols of creativity, status, and technological progress, with each region—from Germany’s precision sports cars to Italy’s performance masterpieces—showcasing human innovation and cultural expression.
Pandora Paúl, former curator at America’s Automotive Trust and LeMay America’s Car Museum, has curated award-winning exhibits and served on the Board of the National Association of Automobile Museums.
