Dr. David Mutchler of Rose-Hulman presents an accessible introduction to computer programming. While traditional coding courses often begin with text-based languages such as Python, this workshop uses Scratch, a free block-based programming language developed by the MIT Media Lab. Its drag-and-drop interface allows learners to focus on logic rather than complex syntax. Core concepts— including loops, conditionals, functions, and variables— are explored through the creation of a simple game, Lemon Asteroids!.
