This three-session course explores how the music and entertainment industry has evolved from the mid-20th century to the present. Once defined by limited choices and shared cultural experiences, the industry has been reshaped by technology, shifting demographics, economic forces, and changing attention spans. The course examines what audiences consume and how access, discovery, and value have transformed over time. Through comparison of past and present practices, discussion considers whether earlier eras truly represented a golden age and how today’s industry should be understood and evaluated. Participants are encouraged to share personal “greatest hits” lists as part of an engaging conversation.

Members who cancel a program registration will only receive a full refund if the following criteria are met: cancellation is received in the OLLI office 15 business days prior to the first meeting of any Course or Osher Online Course, cancellation is received in the OLLI office 30 business days prior to the event for a Special Event and/or 30 business days prior to the departure date for all day trips and overnight trips.
