Led by avid book collectors, John Benton, retired history instructor at Ivy Tech and ISU, and local writer and photographer, Mike Lunsford, this three-session course introduces the art and practice of book collecting, The first two sessions cover foundational topics for new and experienced collectors, including starting a collection, locating collectibles, collecting within a budget, determining value, and understanding essential dos and don’ts. The final session on Friday features a field trip to Pensees Bookshop in Charleston, IL, the closest collectororiented bookshop to Terre Haute. Participants must provide transportation to Pensees, and details of the times and locations for this final session will be shared in class by the instructors

Members who cancel a program registration will only receive a full refund if the following criteria are met: cancellation is received in the OLLI office 15 business days prior to the first meeting of any Course or Osher Online Course, cancellation is received in the OLLI office 30 business days prior to the event for a Special Event and/or 30 business days prior to the departure date for all day trips and overnight trips.
