This two-session course explores the depth and diversity of Italian wine culture, led by Dr. Maki Hirotani, faculty member at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and a DipWSET-certified wine educator. The first session introduces Italian wine history, key grape varieties, and the distinctive traditions of northern regions, with emphasis on Veneto and Piedmont. The second session examines central and southern Italy, highlighting Tuscany and Sicily, regional styles, Roman-era wine history, and pairing traditions. Each session provides cultural context and offers a comprehensive look at Italy’s enduring relationship with wine, food, and place.

Members who cancel a program registration will only receive a full refund if the following criteria are met: cancellation is received in the OLLI office 15 business days prior to the first meeting of any Course or Osher Online Course, cancellation is received in the OLLI office 30 business days prior to the event for a Special Event and/or 30 business days prior to the departure date for all day trips and overnight trips.
