If you are an outgoing, friendly individual who enjoys helping others feel welcome and connected, OLLI’s new Classroom Host Team is the perfect role for you! Our Classroom Hosts represent OLLI within the classroom—ensuring every member’s experience is positive, smooth, and engaging.
Classroom Hosts play an important role in creating a warm and welcoming environment for both instructors and participants. Responsibilities include preparing the classroom before sessions begin, greeting attendees as they arrive, assisting instructors with materials or technology, and offering help as needed. Hosts will also serve as friendly faces for new members, making OLLI feel like home.
This interactive training and recruiting session details the ins and outs of being an effective Classroom Host. The session covers opening and closing procedures, responsibilities and expectations, how to introduce instructors, and how to apply the SHINE method to make every member feel valued and seen.
The Classroom Host Team will be large enough to ensure flexibility—members will only serve a few classes per semester and can easily trade shifts when plans change.
If you love people, enjoy lending a helping hand, and take pride in representing OLLI, this is your chance to shine where learning happens—inside the classroom!
