Join Library Director Sarah Trover for a guided exploration of the Brazil Public Library, a landmark rooted in community determination and national philanthropy. Founded through grassroots fundraising in the 1870s and strengthened by a $20,000 Carnegie grant secured in 1902, the Bedford limestone building was dedicated in 1904 and remains a distinctive architectural treasure. Participants will trace the library’s origins along the historic National Road, reflect on its remarkable growth, and learn how renovations and statewide partnerships have expanded services. This tour highlights resilience, civic pride, and the enduring role of the library in Clay County’s cultural life.
