Explore the art of caricature whittling in this hands-on, beginner-friendly program led by accomplished local woodcarvers. Learn to draw and carve a basic wood spirit that can be transformed into a cowboy, Santa, or whimsical character of choice. The first session includes a knife sharpening demo by Tom Makosky and guided carving instruction from Joe McCarthy. In the second session, enjoy demos on cypress knee caricatures, painting, sanding, and finishing techniques. A lighthearted Jeopardy-style quiz adds to the fun, concluding with a group photo showcasing participants’ creations. Materials provided if needed; all skill levels are welcome. Snacks included.

Members who cancel a program registration will only receive a full refund if the following criteria are met: cancellation is received in the OLLI office 15 business days prior to the first meeting of any Course or Osher Online Course, cancellation is received in the OLLI office 30 business days prior to the event for a Special Event and/or 30 business days prior to the departure date for all day trips and overnight trips.
