What role does place play in shaping memory and experience? This course explores the psychological and emotional connections between people and their environments through the lens of environmental psychology. Drawing on insights from psychology, geography, architecture, and design, it examines how surroundings influence behavior, cognition, identity, and memory. Topics include place attachment, place identity, cognitive maps, the meaning of home, displacement, and the restorative power of nature.
