ISU Sustainability Director, Cayle Moreo, presents a three-part series on sustainability.
Part I covers pruning fruit trees to promote healthy growth and bountiful harvests. All are invited to visit the food forest for a quick tour and a hands-on fruit tree pruning lesson.
Part II addresses the importance and methods of composting, ways to use compost to improve soil/plant health, use of compost in seed starting mixes, making compost tea, and ways to incorporate compost into a landscape or garden.
Part III addresses various sustainability projects, focuses on programs that involve community partners, and ways that ISU Sustainability is helping to fight climate change and food insecurity through the Food Forest program.
