In preparation for the THSO’s concert Rach 2 With Di Wu on April 30, 2022, members of the THSO will present an overview of historical and contextual information about concert repertoire. Displaying tenderness, lyricism, power, and a charming charisma, Di Wu returns to Terre Haute to perform Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Concerto, considered by many to be the world’s favorite piano concerto. The concert opens with a favorite work composed by Dan Powers, Overture for the THSO, the Symphony’s Composer-in-Residence, and concludes with Brahms’s astonishingly powerful Symphony No. 1.
