The oldest music in the world is religious. So is some of the newest. Civilizations around the world treasure centuries of liturgical traditions that speak to the core of what they believe to be important and meaningful. Join Dr. John McIntyre, composer and conductor of liturgical music, to explore what liturgy is and how it functions in different faith traditions. The three sessions inquire into the Abrahamic religions’ use or non-use of liturgical music and discover some ways non-Western religions incorporate musical elements into their worship.
Fee: | $20.00 |
