The Harlem Renaissance marked a vibrant period of artistic and intellectual flourishing among African Americans in the early 20th century. This course, divided into distinct sessions, begins by examining the socio-economic conditions in America, particularly in the South and the Caribbean, that spurred migration to Harlem. Subsequent sessions will delve into the rich art, literature, and nightlife ofHarlem, highlighting key figures and the cultural explosion that attracted patrons from across the five boroughs. The course explores the impact of the 1929 Stock Market Crash and subsequent racial incidents which signaled the decline of this remarkable era. Open discussions will enhance the learning experience throughout this captivating journey
