Join ISU Professor of Music Dr. Kurt Fowler as he takes a deep dive into the historical and cultural context for Rock & Roll music along with its related styles. Dr. Fowler will examine the roots of Rock & Roll and follow its development through the 1970s, discovering the various ways human experience is reflected in the American popular music of the time. Dr. Fowler discusses basic musical terminology, standard musical forms, stylistic elements that characterize prominent musical trends, relationships between music and society, and prominent artists and selected songs.
